New social media and photography management:

We are delighted to welcome Gavin McCourt, who will now be managing our socials and photography. Gavin joins us with over 8 years of experience in the industry working with high profile clients such as Malmaison, Hotel De Vin and Taylor Wimpey. Gavin’s stunning photography, attention to detail and organisational skills, will enable us to present Hamilton town centre businesses and organisations at their very best!

As a reminder, businesses in our area can book a short session with Gavin up to every 6 weeks. Photos can be provided on request or lifted from our socials if easier. The scheme also includes 1 post on our socials up to every 6 weeks. However, if you have a special event or promotion, drop Gavin an email to organise reshares or something additional. You can reach Gavin at gavin@hamiltonbid.org

Fly tipping and waste issues:

The area has seen a rise in waste issues over the summer period, which is most unwelcome, unhelpful and unsanitary. As some of the areas impacted are not within the local authorities normal responsibility, additional resource by the council have been required to support the removal of waste. If you see waste issues, please report the issues using the online form https://www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk/xfp/form/746  As part of our mode of operation, we check the town centre for issues such as waste regularly and report these using the form. Working together we can support the reporting of issues and aid the local authority in dealing with the causes.

Footfall reporting:

The town centre continues to out-perform estimates and last years visits with an additional 55k, +1.2% visits year on year to date. (Source, placeinformatics). Whilst we are seeing specific zones, producing anticipated decreases, our strategic action in relation to access and parking has countered decline with areas such as Quarry Street reporting +121k, +13.78%, Cadzow Street +30k +9% increase in visits year to date.

In addition, the most successful days across the whole town centre this summer in terms of year-on-year increases have been on our event days, Summer Gala, 19th July +9.9% and Pride South Lanarkshire 2nd August +8.7% (Figures are in relation to the full BID area impact). Source Placeinformatics).
