Our district is a great place to do business. Hamilton is a traditional Scottish market town and a business centre that has always kept a keen eye to the future. Hamilton Our Town has been set up by the Hamilton Business Improvement District. This is an independent organisation set up by retailers and business owners to promote the benefits of shopping and doing business in our town.
What is a Business Improvement District? It is a business-led initiative where businesses work together and invest collectively to improve their own business environment. Business Improvement District creates a partnership between businesses across town and key stakeholders like the Police and South Lanarkshire Council.
Hamilton Our Town is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, made up of local businesses and key stakeholders who bring their knowledge, experience and commitment to supporting Hamilton town centre.
Our Directors give their time on a voluntary basis, helping to shape the strategic direction of Hamilton Business Improvement District and providing oversight of our work, priorities and investment.
We aim to maintain a Board that reflects the broad mix of businesses, organisations and stakeholders across Hamilton town centre. Board members attend regular meetings throughout the year and may also contribute their experience to specific projects, working groups and areas of activity.
We are always interested in hearing from people who are passionate about Hamilton and would like to find out more about becoming involved with the Board.

The Business Improvement District aim to improve both the appeal and attractiveness of the town centre, which we plan to achieve through the concerted efforts of the people of Hamilton, including its business owners, those who work in or visit the town and organisations with connections to the town.
We are here to support levy-paying businesses in the BID area. We are also here to help those out with the BID area who wish to work with the town? If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our Business Improvement District Manager, Malcolm Thomas-Harley.
We are also interested in hearing from any businesses or organisations who are looking for a new home: if you are considering relocating, we’d love to talk with you about the opportunities of investing in Hamilton. Again, please do not hesitate to contact our District Manager.
