Hamilton Our Town BID is delighted to announce that it has officially achieved British BIDs Accreditation — becoming only the fourth BID so far in Scotland and the 22nd across the entire UK to receive the industry-recognised standard.
The accreditation celebrates the strength of the organisation and recognises the high standards being delivered across Hamilton town centre through events, marketing, business engagement and partnership working.
Completed following an independent external assessment, the accreditation looked at all areas of Hamilton Our Town’s work including leadership, communications, management, finance and overall operations.
Achieving the award places Hamilton Our Town BID amongst a small group of accredited BIDs across the UK and marks another significant milestone for the organisation.
The news follows another major success for Hamilton Our Town BID last year, when Manager Malcolm Thomas-Harley received the Scotland Loves Local High Street Hero award in recognition of his contribution to Hamilton town centre and the local business community.
Malcolm Thomas-Harley said:
“We are incredibly proud to have achieved this accreditation. It reflects the passion, hard work and commitment that goes into supporting and promoting the town centre every single day — particularly at a time when town centres across the country continue to face significant challenges and change.
As a small organisation with a volunteer board and limited resources, this recognition makes the achievement even more meaningful. It is a credit to our board members, staff, partners, businesses and everyone who continues to support the work of the BID and believes in Hamilton town centre”.
The accreditation process was completed by British BIDS, via an independent assessment process designed around nationally recognised BID standards and best practice.
Hamilton Our Town BID will continue working to support and showcase everything Hamilton town centre has to offer through events, campaigns, partnerships and initiatives that help bring people into the town and support local businesses.
