Throughout the year, we deliver a programme of community events designed to bring people together, support local businesses, and create a lively, welcoming town centre for everyone to enjoy.

What’s On

We host a range of free, family-friendly and community-focused events across the year, including:

• Easter Gala Day (April) – a fun-filled day with market stalls, entertainment, and activities for all ages
• Scotland Loves Local Event (June) – celebrating local businesses and community spirit
• Summer Gala Day (July) – one of our biggest events of the year with live performances, activities, and a fantastic atmosphere
• Summer Festival (July) – a month-long programme featuring dozens of events and experiences across the town
• Christmas Lights Switch-On (November) – a magical festive celebration to kick off the Christmas season
• Festive Events & Markets (December) – bringing the town to life with seasonal cheer

Alongside these, we run regular markets, promotions, and pop-up activities to keep Hamilton active all year round.

Why We Do It

Our events are about more than just a great day out.

They are designed to:

• Increase footfall and support local businesses
• Create a sense of place and pride in Hamilton
• Provide free, accessible experiences for the community
• Bring people together and showcase what our town has to offer

Every event is part of our wider mission to support our town.

These activities are funded largely by Hamilton’s business community, meaning local businesses are directly investing in the town centre and the local community. Without this support – there would be no regular events, activities and promotion of the area.

We always aim to deliver as much impact as possible, even with a very modest budgets, by working creatively and collaboratively.

Alongside our activity, we also support charity-led initiatives, such as our community panto, International Woman’s Day, Lanarkshire Pride and more – helping extend the reach and benefit of what we do.
