Quarry Street free parking / road opening trial to proceed:
We have been informed that the pedestrianised section of Quarry Street is planned to open to vehicles in January 2024 and that a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) will be promoted. Following our feedback, the number of parking spaces has also been increased to 27, providing increased capacity on the street. The trial will enable vehicles to park/wait for 30 minutes, free of charge within the marked bays, in support of business and the community. During the 18-month trial period assessment will be made regarding the impact of the initiative. As per previous updates, deliveries will not be permitted within the hours of 09:30 to 16:00. In addition, traffic will now be permitted to access Cadzow Street, however access to Keith Street will be restricted to buses and taxi’s only.
Further information and updates will be provided before the trial commences.
