Ballot opens next week:
Businesses located in the BID area will start to receive ballot paper and a business plan by the end of next week in the post. The result of the vote will decide on whether we (Hamilton Our Town BID) will operate for another 5 years and past October. We have several plans in development that can make a real difference to the area, businesses, and the community. We also hope that the huge efforts and determination in the face of adversity over the past few years demonstrate the level of genuine passion and ingenuity for making a real difference to the area. In terms of events, we have begun work on the Christmas Light Switch on event , Hamilton Christmas Parade and have begun initial work in delivering a significantly impactful event schedule for 2023. Without your support through voting yes, these events will no longer take place in Hamilton impacting footfall, marketing opportunities and the community in and around the area. Therefore, we are asking for your support by voting yes. Please get in touch to find out more OR pop along to our open day at the Beefeater.
If you don’t receive a ballot paper and you believe that you are eligible to receive one, please get in touch at malcolm.thomasharley@hamiltonbid.org (an eligible voter is usually the person that pays the rates).
Scotland Loves Local gift card:
We were delighted to welcome into town representatives from the ‘Scotland Loves Local’ gift card this week. Any initiative that supports spending in our town is a positive one and we therefore encourage you to sign up to this. More to follow on this one, in the meantime please get in touch for more info.
Market events:
Last Saturday marked our final market event taking place this summer. We have been delighted by the public response which has seen a significant up turn in footfall on market days providing on the day commercial impact and longer term marketing awareness of businesses in the area. A massive thanks goes out to the businesses participating with around 30 stalls over the 3 weeks taken by BID area businesses, participation in the fashion show and more. Special mention to the Hang On Climbing Centre for the support with the initiative to drive additional footfall through Quarry Place and into the New Cross centre.
We hope to be back with the festive season events dependant on the result of the ballot.
