Hamilton Our Town – Annual General Meeting (AGM)

We invite local businesses to attend the Hamilton Our Town AGM taking place on:

Wednesday 22nd April
15:00 – 16:30
Unit 17, Regent Centre, Hamilton

The AGM is a formal meeting of the organisation’s volunteer members (Directors), where we will reflect on activity over the past year, share key achievements, and provide an update on our ongoing work.

We are also pleased to welcome members of the wider business and third sector community to attend as observers, offering an opportunity to hear more about our work. This is also an opportunity to connect with others invested in the area and hear more about our activity.

We welcome attendees from:

  • Local BID area businesses
  • Third sector organisations

If you are interested in attending, please email info@hamiltonbid.org

We are also currently seeking expressions of interest from local business / third sector representatives who may wish to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

Energy review for Hamilton BID area Businesses

We know energy costs remain a key concern for many businesses. While the domestic price cap provides some stability for households, businesses can be more exposed to changes in the wholesale market particularly when approaching contract renewal.

We are currently engaging with a local energy specialist, Eyebright Utilities who are offering BID area businesses access to:

  • Free energy contract reviews
  • Checks on billing and current rates
  • Support with upcoming renewals and planning

This is a no-obligation service, designed to help businesses better understand their current position and explore options.

If you’d like to take advantage of this, get in touch with us and we can connect you.

Please note: Hamilton BID does not endorse any specific provider—this is an optional support service available to businesses in the area.

Footfall Update

Latest figures to the end of February 2026 show Hamilton town centre remains resilient, with footfall down slightly year-on-year (-1.1%) but performing ahead of the Scottish average. This follows two very strong years in 2024 and 2025, where the town centre experienced sustained growth in visitor numbers.

Quarry Street continues to be a standout success, with estimated footfall increasing by +10.8% to date. This builds on consistent growth throughout late 2024 and across 2025 which saw an estimated 16.8% increase in visits to the Quarry Street former pedestrianised zone in 2025, with that positive trend continuing into 2026.

It’s also worth noting that temporary access disruption linked to M74 slip road closures into Hamilton in February is likely to have impacted February movement. Despite this, visitor numbers remain resilient.

Footfall data is based on Place Informatics estimates and may vary from other datasets due to methodology and coverage

Event Programme

We continue to deliver a vibrant and successful programme of community events, supporting our wider placemaking role in animating the town centre and creating reasons for people to visit, stay and connect. So far this year, we have delivered both International Women’s Day and the Hamilton Easter Gala, each attracting strong visitor numbers and generating positive community engagement.

Through these events, we are helping to enhance the town centre experience and strengthen Hamilton’s identity as a welcoming and active place.
