Christmas Light Switch on this Saturday 10:00 – 17:30, Quarry Street:
We’re delighted to be hosting the annual Hamilton Our Town Christmas Light Switch on celebration tomorrow from Quarry Street. This is our 2nd event on the festive calendar following last week’s Regent Centre celebration which drew in an estimated 3k+ additional visitors. (We await exact numbers from the Regent). We’ve a day packed with entertainment from 12:00 to 17:30 when the lights will be switched on by the winner of our Hamilton Hero Competition! Tomorrow, our Christmas market will be in operation alongside Smith’s funfair on Townhead Street.
Operational considerations:
The road will be closed 05:30 on Saturday morning until 19:00. If you have a delivery due access can be permitted up until 10:00. Access to the Regent Centre staff carpark remains in place, the fair ground provide will enable access on request. On the 2nd of December the Parade, and market event also requires a road closure and identical arrangements.
Our Hamilton Hero:
We’d like to introduce you to May, our incredible winner of the Hamilton Hero competition. For an impressive 31 years, May has selflessly served as the volunteer Store Manager at St Andrew’s Hospice Shops in Hamilton and her dedication to volunteering continues to this very day supporting the current manager Ebony. May’s work with St Andrews Hospice has undoubtably helped many people in the town over the years and for this May is our Hamilton hero for 2023!
