Reindeer Parade this Saturday 3rd December:
We’re back on Quarry Street this Saturday with the Reindeer Parade and rescheduled light switch on taking place under the Christmas Tree on a platform stage. Market opens 10:00, entertainment from 12:00, Parade at 14:30 and lights go on 15:30.
Last week as reported we had no choice but to move the events indoors or be cancelled due to the met office forecast. Despite the last-minute changes, the event drew in the region of 5,000 additional visitors to the area. We have also been able to move the light switch on ceremony to this week however the time has changed to 15:30 to accommodate the lighting team and event plan. The shape of the event and some infrastructure elements will be different to what was originally planned but we anticipate similar numbers again this Saturday and a superb event. Note, for this week only the market will be located on one side of Quarry Street to enable the parade to pass. We have also reduced vendor numbers to 30 to provide space for the parade.
Following this weekend event, we have a 3rd Christmas event on the 17th December on Quarry Street.
