Hamilton Our Town is proud to support Scotland Loves Local Week, taking place from Saturday 13 to Saturday 20 June 2026.
The campaign encourages people across Scotland to think local first and celebrate the businesses, organisations and people who help our town centres.
As a warm-up to the week, Hamilton Our Town hosted a fantastic Scotland Loves Local event in the Regent Centre, with live performances, free family activities, local market stalls and a celebration of Hamilton town centre.
Hamilton is home to a mix of independent shops, cafés, restaurants, services, community organisations and national names — all helping to make the town centre welcoming, active and full of potential.
Malcolm Thomas-Harley, Manager of Hamilton Our Town, said:
“Scotland Loves Local Week is a great reminder of the difference we can all make by choosing local. Every visit, purchase, coffee, meal, appointment or recommendation helps support jobs, keeps money in the local economy and strengthens Hamilton town centre.
“We’ve seen many new local businesses invest in Hamilton over the past year, which is a real vote of confidence in the town. Now it’s our chance to fly the flag for Hamilton and celebrate the excellent range of businesses we have right here on our doorstep.”
Hamilton Our Town is encouraging residents, visitors and local workers to get behind the campaign by visiting local businesses and helping spread the message that Hamilton loves local.
Whether you are shopping, eating out, meeting friends or using local services, your support helps keep Hamilton moving forward.
