2025 in review!

Our activity in 2025…

2025 has flown by and its been a busy one!…..So we thought we would pull together a look back at our activity in support of the area ahead of our plans for 2026! Thanks to everyone that has came along to our events, liked a post, provided feedback and of course shopped local….Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you all!

Our activities:

Over the past year, Hamilton Our Town continued to deliver a broad programme of work, based on the business plan. This included events, business promotion, town centre care, partnership working and day-to-day engagement with businesses and stakeholders, all aimed at supporting the economic environment of the area.

A strong part of our work was marketing and promotion, using our platforms and activities to consistently present Hamilton town centre in a positive light, delivered across our own channels and beyond. Through regular business features and professional photography, we helped showcase a high number of businesses trading locally, celebrating positive stories, advertising products and services and recognising local contributions such as new business openings, anniversary celebrations, and even the Hamilton Hero Award. It has also been encouraging and significant to see several new businesses choose to move into the town centre during the year, reflecting growing confidence in Hamilton town centre as a place to trade, a key part of this year’s marketing strategy.

Alongside advertising, we delivered our own self-produced footfall driving events such as ‘SummerFest’ as a new town centre wide festival, gala days, school choir competition, monthly market and more, in addition to the hugely success Pride South Lanarkshire and Comic Con events, delivered through partnership working.

One of the most significant developments spearheaded by ourselves, continues to be the opening of Quarry Street and Cadzow Street to vehicles, improving access and visibility and helping to support significant increased footfall in these areas and beyond. This change has been widely welcomed and represents an important step in making the town centre easier to access and better connected. This progress is in addition to ongoing, practical work including our planters, small shopfront improvement grants, free town centre wi-fi, weekly walkabouts, hosting the monthly Pub Watch group, and opening a new town centre hub to support partnership and community groups. Whilst the environment remains challenging, there are multiple good news stories in relation to Hamilton town centre as seen through investment in the area, ongoing and significant engagement with events, footfall increases on main streets and growing year on year interest in the towns offering, as evidenced through our social media metrics.

Thank You!

As we look back on the year, we want to thank Hamilton’s business community , 3rd sector,  partners and local authority for their continued support, involvement, and willingness to work together. From taking part in events and promotions, to sharing ideas and engaging with our activity, your support helps shape everything we do.

On behalf of Hamilton Our town,  we wish everyone a great festive season and a happy, healthy New Year. We look forward to working together again in the year ahead.

Merry Christmas & Happy New year to you all.
