Public survey

Help us assess the economic impact of our events by completing our short survey.

Over the past few years we have introduced a greater number of events and markets than delivered through previous years. The aim of this strategy is to support increased footfall and in turn spending in the businesses in Hamilton through either spending on event days or through returning customers who have been made aware of products and services due to their visit into the town.

It is evident that footfall increases take place on event days thanks to the support of the everyone that comes into town. In By mid 2024, we have estimated that 20k additional visitors have came into the town centre in the year to see our events such as Hamilton Market, Easter Gala day, Spring trail and Pride South Lanarkshire (supported by us).

Whilst this survey focuses on an economic impact, our events are also designed to provide free to access activities and entertainment for families. At our indoor markets we have introduced kids activities such as crafting, cake decorating, balloon modelling, alongside our face painting service. We’ve also hosted Hamilton’s OUTlet play who have hosted forest school related sessions indoors at our events. Outdoors we regularly include activities provided by outdoor play provider, operation play outdoors and have also hosted the wonderful Messy Church activities in addition to a wide array of performers.

All of our activities and entertainment is free to access for our community.
