Our district is a great place to do business. Hamilton is a traditional Scottish market town and a business centre that has always kept a keen eye to the future. Hamilton Our Town has been set up by the Hamilton Business Improvement District. This is an independent organisation set up by retailers and business owners to promote the benefits of shopping and doing business in our town.
What is a Business Improvement District? It is a business-led initiative where businesses work together and invest collectively to improve their own business environment. Business Improvement District creates a partnership between businesses across town and key stakeholders like the Police and South Lanarkshire Council.
The number of Hamilton Business Improvement District Directorships (12 Members) was set by our Steering Group, as detailed in the Business Plan. We are always on the look out for people who have a passion for the town and can give us some of their time and experience to help support our town. If you area interested in joining the board or are just after some more information on what we do please get in touch today.
Our unpaid Directors attend, at least, five of the six Board meetings per annum, including an AGM. In addition, Directors are asked to become involved in sub-groups to oversee specific larger scale projects, and occasionally to assist in the promotion of Hamilton Business Improvement District Limited.
The Board structure aims to be representative of the types of businesses and stakeholders in the Business Improvement District area.
We are now delighted to offer sponsorship opportunities at a range of price points and products to meet your advertising needs.

The Business Improvement District aim to improve both the appeal and attractiveness of the town centre, which we plan to achieve through the concerted efforts of the people of Hamilton, including its business owners, those who work in or visit the town and organisations with connections to the town.
We are here to support levy-paying businesses in the BID area. We are also here to help those out with the BID area who wish to work with the town? If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our Business Improvement District Manager, Malcolm Thomas-Harley.
We are also interested in hearing from any businesses or organisations who are looking for a new home: if you are considering relocating, we’d love to talk with you about the opportunities of investing in Hamilton. Again, please do not hesitate to contact our District Manager.
