Christmas events start this Saturday

Hamilton (BID) Our Town is delighted to bring to you five dates of festive fun over Christmas starting with our Light Switch on Market this Saturday the 20th on Quarry Street.

The day starts with the opening of our very 1st Christmas market at 10am which runs through to 6pm. We will have a whole host of fantastic and unique products on sale from around 40 vendors, the majority of which will be 1st time vendors for the town. We also will have our very own Hamilton vendors featuring front and centre surrounded by a great selection of cafe’s, shops and bars.

Then at 12pm the entertainment kicks off from our market stage at the top of Quarry Street, on the bandstand and on the street itself. We have a lots of great music and fun for all the family including Samba ya Bamba, An Abba Dream, Black star steel band, community choirs, fire performers, face painters and much much more.

We’re also honoured to have the town lights turned on by winners of our search for a Hamilton Hero competition at 6pm from the market on Quarry Street. These are people that have gone above and beyond to support their community through the pandemic.

We’re also delighted to see the return of Smith’s family funfair that will be set up on market days on Townhead Street.

Important information:
If you have a stall, please note that the road will be closed at 09:30am and blocked with a large vehicle and will not reopen until after the market closes just after 6pm as part of the safety planning for this larger event. We ask that you arrive from 8am as we have a higher volume of vendors than August which may present challenges with vehicle management. If there are any challenges/concern’s, please get in touch.

Please note that the road will be closed and therefore delivery vehicles will not be permitted unless pre-arranged with Hamilton BID
