Hamilton town centre app:
A new app that is designed to support Hamilton business and community groups is due to be officially launched on the 1st June by SLC. To ensure that businesses in the BID area are front and centre, we are uploading business profiles for you and where available photographs to compliment the in-app profiles. The aim of completing this work is to ensure that users can find our town centre businesses right at the point of launch. This also prevents the need for businesses to complete this work themselves, however post launch any business can take on their own business profile.
You can also find business listings, profile pages and location finder on our own website Our Businesses – Hamilton BID (hamiltonourtown.co.uk). Visited last month by 1,400 users this also supports the public find businesses in the BID area.
Economic & fair work committee Hamilton Visit:
On the 16th May we will be hosting members from the economic & fair work committee in the town centre. This parliamentary committee is conducting an enquiry into Town Centres and Retail and part of their brief is to ‘Identify the new realities of retail and e-commerce in Scotland and the resulting impact on town centres’. They are also looking to understand the ‘policy response needed in creating resilient town centres’.
We have been delighted to be given this opportunity to host and input, and we are also keen to involve business owners where possible on the day too. There are a small number of places available for this meeting on the afternoon of May 16th. If interested, please get in touch at malcolm.thomasharley@hamiltonbid.org.
