Easter Gala this Saturday / markets:
We’re back on Quarry Street this Saturday for Hamilton Easter Gala event. We anticipate a good number of visitors into the area and hope that this supports direct on the day sales and longer-term marketing opportunities for the area. As usual the road will be closed from 06:00 and will reopen at 18:00. If you have a delivery on the day we can accommodate this up until 10:00 otherwise please let us know and we can look at the options.
Last Saturday we hosted our 2nd Hamilton Market within the Regent centre, and I am delighted to report that the format continues to pull in additional visitors to the area with a recorded 3,000 additional visitors year on year and 2,000 week on week coming in. Over our 1st 2 dates 4,500 extra recorded people have visited Hamilton town centre year on year for our markets and with this initiative monthly the impact over the year will be an important factor for the town centres economy.
Quarry Street road opening:
Thanks to everyone that has provided feedback so far which indicates strong support for the plans to trial the opening the road and implement 30min free parking on the street. We have expressed our support for this initiative and anticipate news on this shortly which we will feedback as soon as we get it. As a reminder the scheme does not officially allow for deliveries between 09:30 – 16:00 and therefore alternative delivery arrangements clearly would be advised. Please note that if / when the road opens it will be on a trial basis initially.
